Who we are

The Hammie Life

🤍 About Us — Maria & Trevor Hamlin 🤍

The Hearts Behind The Hammie Ranch

Before we ever knew each other, we both carried a quiet dream of land, of peace, of something more. We didn’t know each other's names yet. We were just two people trying to survive the weight of life. Both of us had scars that ran deep. Both of us had wandered off the path. But somehow, long before we met, the Lord had already planted the seed of this life inside each of us.

Maria's story began in the Midwest, in a home full of love and Jesus. But like many who feel deeply, she lost her way in early adulthood. Addiction crept in slowly, stealing pieces of her heart until it nearly consumed her. In 2017, she packed up everything she had and moved to Florida—completely undone but determined to live. She came searching for sobriety, for purpose, and for the God she once loved like a friend.

One Sunday, she found herself sitting in a little bilingual church in Miami. The pastor opened the Word to Ezekiel and began preaching about the dry bones scattered across a desert valley, how they inhaled and came back to life. The Holy Spirit fell heavily on her heart. That story was hers. She was the valley. She was the dry bones. And that day, Maria inhaled and chose to live again.

Trevor's story is rooted right here in Florida. A born-and-raised native, he knows these back roads and salt breezes like the back of his hand. Life handed him more than a few storms, and his path wasn’t always easy. Like many of us, he carried things that weighed heavily on the heart, some seasons of hardship, some questions that didn’t have clear answers.

But even in the harder chapters, there was always a spark in him. A quiet strength. A deep goodness. A sense that something bigger was waiting just ahead.

We were neighbors for three years. We lived directly across the street from one another, two souls unknowingly carrying the same dream, waiting on God’s perfect timing. Then one summer night, it happened. Maria was sitting in her garage, watching a thunderstorm roll in. Trevor pulled into his driveway. She looked up and smiled. “Hi,” she said. He came over. They talked for three hours.

He never left.

What began as a simple conversation turned into friendship. Friendship turned into laughter. Laughter turned into healing. Healing turned into love. And somehow, over time, our lives—so battered, so broken, so beautiful—began to intertwine into something holy.

We got married on December 5th, 2021. But that day wasn’t just about rings and vows. It was the day Trevor made the decision to give his life fully to Jesus. After years of questioning, he walked into the arms of the Father and declared, once and for all, that faith would be the foundation of his life. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

Not even a year later, everything we knew was swept away. On September 28th, 2022, Hurricane Ian ripped through our home. It took everything—our house, our furniture, our security. We stood in the wreckage with nothing left but each other and our cats. But even in that moment, with no physical home, we knew we hadn’t lost our home. Because we were still standing. Still fighting. Still full of faith.

That storm didn’t destroy our dream. It cleared the path.

Now, we live on land we never thought we’d own. We’re building The Hammie Ranch with our own hands and hearts, piece by piece. We are learning as we go, laughing through the chaos, and pouring everything we have into creating a place where people can breathe again.

Maria is the dreamer, always seeing beauty in the dirt, imagining wildflower gardens and porch conversations before there’s even a foundation. Trevor is the steady hand—the realist who makes the dreams tangible, who balances her heart with his strength, who builds what she imagines and helps it all work. We complement each other in every way.

Together, we are building more than a ranch. We are building a refuge.
A place for families.
A place for healing.
A place where the Holy Spirit is felt the moment you pull down the driveway.
Where dry bones inhale again.

This land carries our story. Every fence post and wildflower patch is a testimony. Every animal we welcome is a reminder that God redeems.

And you? You’re invited into it. Whether you stay for a cup of coffee on the porch or become part of our community, we pray you feel peace, presence, and purpose here.

Welcome to The Hammie Ranch.
This is our heart. This is our story.
And we’re just getting started.

Our Mission

At The Hammie Ranch, our mission is to live so set apart that people begin to ask us why—and in that moment, we get to share the gospel.

This dream was planted in our hearts the day someone lived so differently that it made us ask why. That question changed everything. It led to sobriety, salvation, and the realization that God was calling us to create a space where others could experience the same transformation.

The Hammie Ranch exists to be a beacon of light, a place where people can encounter Jesus in the simplest, most beautiful ways—through nature, through community, through the love and care given to every animal, and through the peace that comes from living a life devoted to Him.

We want every guest to leave not just refreshed, but with a sense of wonder, with seeds of faith planted in their hearts, and with the undeniable feeling that they were in the presence of something greater.

Come along with us on this journey—our dreams are just beginning. The farm is coming soon, and we want to share our vision with you each step of the way, from the dream, vision, and mission to building the foundation all the way to opening day.

We can’t wait to welcome you to The Hammie Ranch! 💛

Our Vision

🌾 The Vision of The Hammie Ranch 🌾
A Sanctuary for the Soul

At The Hammie Ranch, we believe the land can be holy ground. From the moment guests turn onto our road, we want them to feel the weight of the world begin to lift. This is a place where peace meets you before a person ever does.

The porch is our welcome mat and our altar. It's an open space made for long talks, real connection, and quiet moments with Jesus. It’s where coffee is shared, stories unfold, and healing begins—one rocking chair conversation at a time.

Our heart is for every guest to encounter the Holy Spirit here. We want this ranch to be more than animals and gardens. We want it to be a place where God’s presence feels near. Where joy is found in the simple things and the atmosphere carries hope.

This land is a refuge. A place to rest, to breathe, and to remember who you are. You don’t have to have it all together to belong here. Just come. Come weary or full of wonder. Come for the peace, stay for the presence.

Welcome to The Hammie Ranch. Where faith meets farmland and the porch is holy ground.

Our Core Values

🌿 Core Values of The Hammie Ranch 🌿

  1. Faith First
We seek to honor God in everything we do. The Holy Spirit is welcome here, and we believe this land belongs to Him. Every animal, conversation, and harvest is for His glory.

  2. Radical Hospitality
Everyone who walks through our gates is family. We create space for strangers to feel seen, safe, and at home. Whether it’s five minutes on the porch or a full morning with the animals, people leave knowing they matter.

  3. Rest and Renewal
The Hammie Ranch is a place to pause. We value slowness, peace, and recovery from the noise of life. Here, healing happens in the quiet—through nature, stillness, and God’s gentle presence.

  4. Honest Stewardship
We take care of what we've been given. From the soil to the animals to our resources, we tend with love and integrity, always choosing quality over quantity and purpose over profit.

  5. Joy in Simplicity
We celebrate the little things: a chicken's first egg, coffee on the porch, muddy boots, fresh air, and sunset skies. This ranch teaches us to find beauty in the everyday.

  6. Redemptive Stories
We believe brokenness is not the end of any story. This ranch exists because of second chances, and we carry that spirit into everything—welcoming others into the ongoing story of hope and transformation.

  7. Community Over Comparison
We’re not here to impress—we're here to connect. We value authenticity, support local, and cheer for others doing good work. We're building a community, not a platform.
