A Word From the Porch: It’s Going to Be Okay
There’s something about sitting on a wrap-around porch that makes life’s storms feel a little smaller. Maybe it’s the way the breeze dances through the trees, or the gentle hum of the animals in the barnyard. Maybe it’s the peace that comes when you take a deep breath and remember that God is still holding every detail of your life.
The other day, I came across these words: “God told her that everything would be okay.” I don’t know about you, but my heart needed to hear that. Maybe yours does too.

Life on the ranch isn’t always easy. Some days, it feels like we’re clearing land that will never end—or running a to-do list that’s never finished. The truth is, storms come. Plans get delayed. Machines break down. Money gets tight. And in those moments, it’s easy to forget that God’s timing is perfect, even when we can’t see the full picture.
Isaiah 41:10 reminds us:
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Even when it feels messy, even when we can’t see the finish line, He is faithful. He is already working behind the scenes. Sometimes, we just need to pause on the porch, breathe, and trust Him to do the work.
Today, let this be your reminder:
Take a deep breath and let go of what you can’t control.
Look for little signs of His goodness—maybe a sunrise, a quiet moment, or a sip of coffee that smells just right.
Trust that God is holding every detail, even the ones you can’t see yet.
It’s going to be okay. Not because life will always be smooth, but because the One who made the land, the animals, and your very heartbeat is watching over you. He’s not done with your story yet, and He promises a good ending.
So come sit with me on the porch, with a warm cup of coffee or tea, with the breeze on your face, and let your heart rest in Him.
